Lewis Black Calm and Collected
I've always feared that Lewis Black could explode any moment from an excess of unadulterated rage.
Thankfully, he isn't always like that. Black's biting stage persona is very much at odds with the thoughtful commentary he quietly provides here, though the man's intelligence is always on display.
While this interview is filled with pleasant exchanges, I really dislike the interviewer, Jian Ghomesi.
He's Canadian which by itself is just fine, but he seems like one of those people who tries so very hard to be perceived as hip and cool.
He seems to be fairly popular based on a quick glance at most comments online, but I've seen a handful of interviews where he seemed out of his element.
The most glaring example of his uber cool is what appears to be a mid-nineties brick of a laptop sitting nearby during interviews. It's a wonder the show doesn't come grinding to a halt with a Windows 95 blue screen.
None the less, Ghomesi gets hooked up with awesome guests so his interviews are still worth a listen.

Steelers Super Bowl XLV Mixtape
Back in the time of their humble beginnings as a blue-collar steel town - hence the name Steelers - the Black and Gold men from Pittsburgh helped establish one of the greatest cult followings in sports history.
Yes, the infamous Terrible Towel really is that revered.
The late Myron Cope, renowned announcer of the Steelers during the 'Steel Curtain' days, popularized the phenomenon in the 70's. Right about that time the Steelers started to take off, winning four super bowls in six years. Legend has it that Cope was charged with inventing a gimmick to motivate the team and the city of Pittsburgh before the 1975 playoffs.
From there, he bore the idea of the Terrible Towel and the idea stuck. Ever since its birth in 1975, the Steelers second consecutive super bowl season, legions of fans have carried their towels to bars, games, weddings, even memorials.
In preparation for Super Bowl XLV this Sunday, February 6 it's time to start another Pittsburgh Tradition with "Back in Black and Yellow." It's a pretty cool mashup by one of my former college professors, Matt Merten.
Though he claims no allegiance to the Steelers he did admit the mashup is swaying him towards the Black and Yellow.
As the Steelers vie for their NFL record seventh Super Bowl championship what will pump you up? Perhaps a little ACDC and Wiz Khalifa will help set the tone for a victory over the Packers in Dallas.

Back In Black
If you're not yet a frequent reader do yourself a favor and us to your list of blogs or daily website check-ins. You can thank us later.
During our first annual review we decided to break away from the old design that has served us well for the first two years of the site. Actually, there was no annual review but it sounded cooler than saying we got bored with the old design.
Anyhow, take a spin and let us know what you think of the new digs. Leave a comment or two, or send us nasty emails if you have our addresses.
In honor of the new look it is only fitting to pay tribute to the AC/DC classic off of the eponymous album, Back In Black.
This album was the first recorded after the death of longtime singer Bon Scott and accordingly served as a tribute to the fallen band member.
Let this video serve as the Stars and Slights tribute to not only Bon Scott but the entire ACDC family.
