Cutting Room Floor Lives!
Despite what you might hear in certain circles, there are still vague rumblings of activity deep beneath the surface in Cutting Room Floor. I feel it's important to remind the world that you can purchase both our "official" releases at cdbaby.
Both In Our Luck and our Whiskey Rebellion EP are available for download, as are popular individual songs such as "Walking Alone", "No Thanks Ms. M" and "Brilliant Night".
I anticipate some sneaky new releases at some point and some potential official recordings down the line. Keep an eye on Stars and Slights for new content. Life is a little murky right now so who really knows what to expect when it comes to music?
Anyway, please buy our music as we attempt to make more.
Stay tuned!

Once
Our esteemed colleague and member of alt-rock group Cutting Room Floor, Luke Sweet tipped me off to the film/soundtrack Once and after watching it, well...once, I'm quite taken with it.
I was reluctant at first because it's most certainly a romantic tale and in some ways a "chick flick". The story is cool however, and the lack of a large budget ($160,000) gives the film a certain charm found to be lacking in the bright lights and gloss of Hollywood.
The songs were all composed and performed by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová. Hansard is the founding member and frontman of the popular Irish rock band The Frames and both had collaborated previously.
The track, "Falling Slowly" won the 2007 Academy Award for Best Original Song and it's just tremendous, thus explaining the embedded file below.

Cutting Room Floor - In Our Luck
On June 27, 2008 rock gods Cutting Room Floor brought forth into this world a masterpiece of Alternative Rock. Their second official album, entitled "In Our Luck" introduced a more mature and polished sound thanks in part to the addition of keyboards and a better, more thorough understanding of the recording process.
CRF is humbled to share with you the entire track list from "In Our Luck" via video format, although all of the videos lack traditional video footage (except the recycled version of Garage Band Anthem). The videos that follow comprise the setlist for "In Our Luck" in sequential order.
If you would like to receive a copy of "In Our Luck" please email the band at crfmusic@yahoo.com and provide your contact information. Please do not steal it by using html code trickery. Stealing is for losers and sinners so stop what you're doing now and just listen. Thanks and enjoy!
Track 1 - Rainy Day
Track 2 - Walking Alone
Track 3 - Z
Track 4 - Victim of Circumstance
Track 5 - Drive Me
Track 6 - Goodnight Boston
Track 7 - Forsyth Street
Track 8 - Stars And Slights
Track 9 - Garage Band Anthem
Track 10 - 11:12
Note - The sound for "Z" and "11:12" is a little off and I'm not sure why. I've tried different uploads and settings for both of them to no avail.

Cutting Room Floor News
We're the first band to get chosen from submissions to be featured on a website called College OTR. It's just a short little blurb but it's cool. Check it out here.
It's kind of funny, the writer said "Stars and Slights" is a must have track, but she featured "Drive Me" on their site. Updates are slowly but surely coming on the CRF myspace page as well, take a look myspace.com/crfmusic

Cutting Room Floor Rocks the Crystal
Friday night saw Alan Brown, Luke Sweet and myself playing our old and new tunes alike in Centerway Square in seasonably beautiful Corning, New York. Sans a lead guitarist, Luke took over the picking duties and did a fine job as we played what we’ve come to refer to as “CRF unplugged/plugged in”.
There was a solid crowd and we were generally well received by friends, family and strangers alike.
Our set list was pretty standard CRF fare, with a couple new covers thrown in, including my new favorite song to play live “We Will Become Silhouettes”, a cover of a cover as it were. Overall, the show was a great success and thanks to all who helped make it so.
The set list from the show is as follows:
All songs are original unless otherwise noted
1. Rainy Day
2. Crooked Teeth (Death Cab For Cutie cover)
3. Brilliant Night
4. Goodnight Boston
5. Sitting, Waiting, Wishing (Jack Johnson cover)
6. Losing Time and Your Would-be Girl
7. Forsyth Street
8. We Will Become Silhouettes (Postal Service/Shins cover)
9. Walking Alone
10. Up To You
11. No Rain (Blind Melon cover)
12. 11:12
13. No Thanks Ms. M
14. I’ve Got A Feeling
15. Hey Girl (O.A.R. cover)
16. Stars and Slights

Song Of The Day - June 30, 2008
Hello and welcome again ladies and gents. As promised in our welcome post each day we will deliver a song of the day to your internet browser. Music is a passion of ours that we we would like to share with all of you, so feel blessed.
Since this is the inaugural song of the day we've decided to present it in video format!
And now without any further adieu... the music Gods present to you:
"Garage Band Anthem" by Cutting Room Floor, the ninth track on their newly released album entitled In Our Luck. *Special thanks goes out to Mark Wurzelbacher for helping us out with the piano track.
Here's how everything turned out. Let us know what you think!
* - Mark took the time out of his busy schedule to help me with a project for my Music Technology class at ND. I recorded several takes of Mark on the keys and edited them, ironically enough, with the Garage Band program on my Mac. After adding effects to the audio track I set it to a movie slide show of CRF pictures using iMovie.

But most importantly, tell us what you'd like to see us do to improve our website or impart some overall blogging knowledge.
